ESYLUX smoke detectors with bidirectional radio networking
Thanks to safety awareness campaigns, we are more aware of safety in the home, and smoke detectors are now more widely used. However, more safety awareness initiatives are still required.
Most deaths from fire occur at night, as we have no sense of smell while sleeping. Victims suffocate without waking up. A few inhalations of poisonous fumes can be fatal. Therefore, when an alarm is triggered, every second counts. Alarms must go off leaving occupants with enough time to escape without breathing in the poisonous fumes.
Decisions need to be made about how to protect ourselves, our families and our homes from fire.
The wire-networked ESYLUX PROTECTOR home smoke detection system is one way of ensuring that the alarm alerts the entire household. It can, however, be difficult to accurately and rapidly locate the source of fire and trace the original alarm. ESYLUX has already come up with a simple solution: Home smoke detectors with bidirectional radio networking in conjunction with the retrofittable PROTECTOR RF transceiver. This easy-to-install radio module also ensures that the smoke detectors alert the entire household. In addition, by simply pressing a button on the ESYLUX Mobil PROTECTOR RF remote control, the source of the fire can be located and the original detector traced. The remote control will turn off the acoustic alarm on all the signalling devices for 10 minutes. However, the original device will continue to sound and can therefore be quickly and easily located – saving precious minutes.
The use of two frequency bands - 868/869MHz - ensures dual transmission security. If there is interference on one of the bands, the alarm signal will be sent via the other band, and as the alarm signal is transmitted from one signalling device to the next, it can be heard everywhere in large buildings.
A jumper can be used in the ESYLUX RF transceiver to switch smoke detectors in young children's or old people's rooms to mute mode to prevent the alarm causing the occupants to panic. However, if the fire starts in one of these rooms, the ESYLUX PROTECTOR smoke detector will set off an audible alarm and send the alarm signal to the other signalling devices via radio frequency.
Up to 7 systems can be set up in a block of flats so that families can use their systems independently. In addition, a general alarm system can be set up in a shared emergency exit (e.g. a staircase). The system will receive the alarm signal from each individual flat and set off the audible alarm in the staircase.
Finally, the handy Mobil PROTECTOR RF remote control features a test function for the individual smoke detectors/RF transceiver and all the signalling devices in the system (including in the staircase). The supplied wall mount also ensures that the remote control is always kept in the same place.
The Esylux PROTECTOR residential smoke detection system is perfect for guaranteeing private homes and flats maximum security: securing individual rooms, detectors wired up to a network, bidirectional radio networking and radio networking with a control centre.
