Easy to install, flexible to use - ESYLUX POWERLINE EPL system

Retrofitting a lighting control system does not always have to involve slashing interior walls, digging up the garden or removing paving slabs. A point which is proved by ESYLUX Powerline. The system transmits switching signals via the 230 V mains, making the installation of modern light control and intelligent facility management extremely easy to achieve.
The EPL Powerline System supplied by ESYLUX is a highly flexible solution which is both easy to operate and straight-forward to retrofit. No extra cabling is needed, making the system quick to install. The ESYLUX Powerline EPL system comprises sensors and actuators which control electric devices via the building’s own 230 V mains supply.

The technology is based on the sophisticated LON protocol from ECHELON® and therefore guarantees the highest operational reliability. The sensors are EPL-Transmitters and can be controlled by various switching elements, such as buttons/switches, thermostats, light barriers, motion and presence detectors, smoke detectors and switching relays. The sensors transmit the signal via the internal 230 V supply to the actuators. The actuators are EPL-Receivers. These switch, control or dim electric devices such as wall, ceiling and outdoor lights, roller shutters, blinds, water fountains, circulation pumps, small ventilators/fans or Christmas lights. As they only consume < 0.2 W, the EPL-Receivers are also suitable for switching off standby devices.

The EPL Powerline System can be easily programmed by using a screwdriver to turn 2 addressing knobs. These enable the creation of 16 main groups, each with 15 sub-groups. Thanks to the Gateway EPL-PC USB adapter, you can conveniently manage the EPL Powerline System using a PC. This not only means that the system is uncomplicated and hasslefree to set up via the mains, but that it is equally easy to reprogram.
The building is represented visually, allowing the modules to be easily controlled at the click of a mouse. Users also benefit from a convenient user mode and timer features.
The EPL Powerline System enables users to switch all devices from any point in the building and at any time, irrespective of the wire arrangement. Thus groups can be created for interior or exterior lighting, shading or central switching commands for shutters and interior lighting.
The system has been designed to allow the easy integration of existing motion detector-controlled exterior lighting, whereby the EPL-Transmitter/RC is positioned between the ESYLUX RCi motion detector and the standard mounting base.
