Motion detectors BASIC
Full energy efficiency at a low price

The sensors from the BASIC series offer a simple entry route into demand-driven building automation. Mounted on house walls, garages or other façades, the wall-mounted motion detectors from this series enable convenient, energy-efficient control of outdoor lighting.

• Movement and daylight-dependent switching of outdoor lighting
• Connection bracket for easy wall mounting
• Double line entrance with elastic sealing membrane
• Immediately ready for use thanks to pre-installed factory settings
• Easy adjustment of range and field of detection with revolving and tilting ball-head technology
• Ability to change the light threshold value and switch-off delay time easily using controls in the detector
• Large variant with more wiring area for cables with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm²

PRACTICAL ADVICE

Before installing the device, please observe the following:

• The motion detector is a passive infrared sensor that detects moving sources of heat (people, vehicles, etc.)
• Be sure to account for the characteristics of the surrounding area, such as neighbouring properties and proximity to roads, to prevent the light from switching on unnecessarily
• Make sure that the motion detector has a clear field of vision across the desired area of operation because infrared rays cannot penetrate solid objects
• Occasionally, small animals or sources of heat located behind bushes that are moving in the wind may cause the light to switch on unnecessarily
• Maximum range can be achieved by installing the device laterally to the direction of approach — the sensor can only detect movement that is directly in front of it at short range (please refer to the diagrams in the quick reference guide)
• Maintain a distance of at least one metre from the connected lighting system to avoid affecting operation of the in-built light sensor; do not aim light sources directly at the sensor
• The motion detector should only be installed on a stable, flat surface (wall)
